In 2025, the German Bundestag will once again award its Research Prize.
The prize is worth 10,000 euros. It honours outstanding recent scholarly works which encourage the public to engage with issues relating to parliamentarianism and which contribute to a greater understanding of the work of Parliament.
Winners are selected by a jury of academics from the fields of law, politics and history.
Entry conditions:
- Academic works can be submitted by the author or by a third party.
- Only works that have already been published and appeared in print after 1 April 2022 can be taken into consideration.
- In works written as part of an academic qualification (dissertation, post-doctoral thesis etc.), the academic process must be completed.
- Submitted works must be monographs or works comparable with these. Joint works cannot be taken into consideration.
- Employees of the Administration of the Bundestag are exempt from participating.
- The work must be submitted both as a printed copy and in electronic form (PDF format). At the end of the process, the winner will be asked to submit two further printed copies.
- Entries must also include a summary of the work of a maximum two pages in length, a CV and a signed consent form for the processing of personal data in line with the GDPR. Examiners’ reports for works written as part of an academic qualification may also be submitted.
- Only entries containing all required documents will be taken into consideration.
- The documents submitted will be used only within the framework of the competition and will be returned or deleted at the end of the process.
- By submitting their work, entrants declare their acceptance of the entry conditions.
- The jury’s decision is final.
All documents must be submitted to the address below by 8 June 2024. With the exception of the printed copy of the work, all documents may be submitted in electronic form via email.
